JUXTAPOSITION

July 31st, 2009

So seeing as we just had the HOTTEST day of the year (thank goodness for water, fishing, and boats!) I decided to cool myself down and reminisce about the COLDEST day of the year!

Below are some pictures of the wonderful Sturgeon Fishing we have been experiencing during this heat wave, alternating with a "bike and wade" Steelhead trip I went on in February when it was about -20 degrees celcius - check out where my guide put the fishing rods!!! We didn't catch any steelhead that day because I only lasted about 20 mins before my wet gloves iced over!

Once you've worked yourself up between the heat and the Sturgeon fishing the February Shots will cool you down!

4 ride for the price of 3 special starting Saturday (tomorrow) to Celebrate this glorious province and the Long Weekend we get because it is so Awesome!

An Average Post, (an average day)

July 16th, 2009

Today I lack creativity, or more so I am too busy to be creative.

Sturgeon fishing has been average. In fact it's just really consistent. It MIGHT sound exceptionally boring to say that, but that's what it is, go fishing you'll probably catch 3 little guys, 2 big ones, and if you're really good and there's lots of bites maybe between 1 and 4 more in the mid-range...of course this depends on how many hours you go for, and how much time you choose to devote to Salmon fishing.

I might be willing to place wagers on this, call me if you are interested in taking me up on this offer!!!!

Have great Sunny Weekend!

Here is a picture of the Upper Pitt River, just so you don't forget that THAT salmon run starts up next week! Maybe things won't seem so average once we have some more variety in here. Sturgeon, Sturgeon, Chinook, Sturgeon, accidentally caught sockeye, Sturgeon... yep thats my day...
The Upper Pitt will mix my conversations up a bit!- bull trout, dolly, accidentally caught Chinook, Sockeye, Sockeye... I am in a gambling mood!!!

Sockeye Salmon fishing opens soon, less than 2 weeks and it feels like forever! Call me to book your trip and we can talk about how it feels like forever away and we can drool over the idea of cedar planked goodness.

Guide For Rent.

July 8th, 2009

Can you please rent a guide from us for evening trips, I am getting tired of being asked to go out fishing with some of the guides after work and watching them catch all the fish!

OR maybe I should start ofering gas money to make them feel OBLIGATED to catch me something- make them pretend I am actually a paying client!

Don't get me wrong -I really like posting pictures of clients because they look SO SO happy- but maybe it should be my turn!

Below are some lovely pictures that I am NOT in...

"Psycho Salmon"

July 5th, 2009

(the above picture credit goes to the wonderful Darren K. cause I know he works just as hard as I do in Salmon Season)

So in 2006 (a decent year for Salmon), I had a couple of Aussie friends show up to BC to stay and work and play. Around the time when they arrived so did the Sockeye Salmon opening!

I sent them out Salmon fishing with a $150 special from Fred's I got for my birthday a few years before.

They were hooked (sorry for the pun it's just too easy)! So, one day my buddy is at the kitchen sink cleaning his catch of the day up for the BBQ and I started looking at his new tackle box. On the top was written "Psycho Salmon Tackle Box", and I said,"Oh do you think they fight harder than most fish?" and he goes "No, that's what they're called- Psycho Salmon!" Instant laughter from me...

Accents make for some pretty funny times... So do Psycho Salmon Fishing trips... 1-877-796-3345 It opens Likely July 25th!!! Yay

If you didn't enjoy this post read the one below, it'll make you smarter!
